What is the difference between ATX power supply and ordinary switching power supply
For a specific ATX power supply, the oscillation period of the switch is relatively fixed, and it is more likely to be determined in the design stage. The number of oscillations per unit time (1s) is the frequency of the switching power supply. The relationship between frequency and oscillation period is reciprocal to each other.
The frequency of its exciting source in the main circuit of ATX power supply is generally tens of kilohertz. For the ATX power supply with single switch tube, the oscillation frequency of the single switch tube is the same as that of its excitation source. For the ATX power supply with two switches (the two switch turn on alternately), the oscillation frequency of each switch tube in the double switch tube is 1max 2 of the frequency of its excitation source. The specific frequency parameters of the exciting source of the ATX power supply belong to the scope that the power designer needs to consider, which is of little significance to the maintenance personnel.
In the previous content, we have introduced the relationship between ATX power supply and switching power supply, and then we introduce the specific classification of ATX power supply. I believe that for readers who are engaged in or love power maintenance, the professional terms such as "double-tube half-bridge", "single-tube forward", "double-tube forward", "active PFC", "passive PFC" and "synchronous rectifier" are not unfamiliar. Among them, the three terms "double-tube half-bridge", "single-tube forward" and "double-tube forward" belong to the concept of switching power supply. "active PFC" and "passive PFC" belong to the concept of power factor. Synchronous rectification is a concept in the field of rectification. The three technologies of "active PFC", "passive PFC" and "synchronous rectification" are all technologies that serve the switching power supply.
